31 runs required off last four overs with 9 wickets in hand with in-form Franois du Plessis batting like a dream, Chennai were in control of this match but Kevon Cooper's double strike brought the match back into balance in this intriguing battle at MA Chidambaram stadium before Dwayne Bravo and MS Dhoni found couple of boundaries. 8 runs were needed off last over and then two off last ball. Young allrounder Stuart Binny couldn't find his line and length and Chennai escaped with a win off very last ball.

Earlier, Owais Shah built up a moderate total for visitors with a half century, rotated around in partnerships with Ajinkya Rahane and Ashok Menenaria. R Ashwin was the most economical bowler.
