Sometimes for a oneday match, its better to have absolutely no Plan A. Specially the situation Team India find themselves in today..

We just have an imagination of ball coming very fast and high on Wanderers pitch or Graeme Smith butchering our young bowlers to midwicket, if we bowl first.

The fact is we don't really know. The ball may come at ideal pace and bounce for our Indian batsmen or Irfan may rediscover his "banana swing", instead of the above.Team India Practising.jpg

So I believe absolute no Plan A should be our first plan. If the pitch is conducive for batting, fine but if it isn't - don't lose wickets. Reasses your condition after powerplays and again at 40th over mark and switch to plan B, C and D. the idea should be to play full 50 overs and I am sure we will win the match.

But if we bowl first, we have to notice that Graeme Smith wants to hit everything through to midwicket while other opener - Loots Bosman lofts everything pitched up to him. Our plan should be to do exactly opposite. Bowl every single ball outside off to Smith and pitch nothing up to Bosman.

I also expect Dravid to be extremely aggressive while bowling. No matter how much we have to defend, balls always fly to slips now and then. Someone should be there to catch it.

Notes :

-:- Virendra Sehwag suffered a cut in his left hand finger. There were doubts over his playing this match but just 5 min back - Rahul Dravid cleared it that Virendra Sehwag is playing this match.

-:- This match will be played on Pitch 6 of Wanderers stadium in Johannesburg, which is the same pitch used for Aus vs SA Greatest ODI few months ago.

-:- There are some chances of rain during this 1st ODI on India's tour of South Africa. But tonight at Johannesburg is expected to be of no rain. So you may see a little short and delayed match. Keep your TV's on..!!
