Pakistani bowlers have bowled brilliantly throughout this series, keeping English clueless in the test series and even though visitors came back remarkably to whitewash ODI series, it was batsman's fault as bowlers did their job but never had runs on board. Today, starting fresh T20 series, Pakistani batsmen failed quite a bit again but last wicket stand of 71 runs between Shoaib Mallik and Misbah-ul-Haq gave'em something to fight on and 8 runs victory was somehow squeezed out..

Invited in to bat first, debutant Awais Zia stroked couple of lusty bowls while Mohammad Hafeez rotated the strike but Graene Swann and Jade Dernbach pinned down the middle order, reducing Pakistan to 5 for 73 runs at the 11th over mark when Mallik joined Misbah. Together, these two slowly rebuilt the innings and got some respectibility to it.

Chasing moderate target, Kevin Pietersen gave England a flying start but Shahid Afridi foxed him while Mohammad Hafeez snatched couple of wickets himself too. With asking rate hovering around 7 runs an over, Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal didn't let visitors break free. 18 runs required off last over, not a single boundary came and Pakistan finished on successful terms.
