Aussie team for 1st Ashes test at Brisbane.Filed under
Ashes 2006
When you play at home - you know your pitches, the ground dimentions, you have your supporters to back you when things don't go your way and quite a few more advantages.
What Australian team also have in this Ashes series that they didn't in last Ashes series is whole bunch of Domestic cricketers available for selection. The Brisbane Curator said Gabba has encountered unexpected rain and thus the pitch may have "live grass". Steve Waugh said blast English Captain with bouncers that whole team demorlises.. And now the third hint - Aussie selectors include 5 fast bowlers, a mandatory spinner, a fast bowling all rounder, a wicket keeper and 5 batsmen - who can start preparing for 1st test because there is no competetion for batting order anymore. Australian 13 men squad for 1st Ashes 2006 test match at Gabba.
Looking at England team, I don't see too many batsmen scared of pace and bounce on the ball, except may be Kevin Pietersen who likes to come on the front foot before the ball is bowled. But here is a catch - Australian team uses the media very well. They are making news that they will bounce English team, where actually they will attack the stumps after bowling 2 bouncers everyover. I hope English batsmen follow the key of playing straight. Note : -:- Above Australian squad is only for the 1st Ashes test match which will be starting from 23rd of November 2006 - Thursday. Australia will anounce next team later. Related ArticlesAshes 2006
