It's been over four years since West Indies came on a tour to India back in January 2007, just before the world cup but at that time, they played just 4 one day internationals. For a West Indies test match in India, we've to go as far as nine years ago when Carl Hooper's team lost 0-2 (3) to Sourav Ganguly's men..
So, why's that the case? Well, each team visits other once in four years but tight schedule didn't leave a slot for windies last time around and even this time, BCCI was late. they announced Windies schedule just a fortnight in advance, giving visitors abdolutely no practice game. here's the fixtures :-
West Indies land from Bangladesh directly to Delhi where they play first test match at Feroz Shah Kotla ground from 6th November 2011. Second test match is at Eden Gardens in Kolkata from 14th while 3rd and final test will be at Wankhede stadium from 22nd.
India are scheduled to tour Australia from boxing day onwards which means Windies tour has to finish as early as possible and hence, there will be no twenty20 match. West Indies will play five one day international series, at Cuttack, Vizag, Ahmedabad, Indore and Chennai, all in space of 13 days.
