Cricket schedule is made in such a way that two teams host and tour each other once every four years and home board collects the benefits by hosting the series. Security reasons have forced Pakistan cricket board to stage their share of games away from Pakistan which is surely hampering their earnings while UAE, which doesn't have a full time international team, are getting to showcase top quality cricket year after year..
Last international cricket match in Pakistan was back in March 2009 and since then, Abu Dhabi and Dubai have hosted 3 test and 4 one day series. This year too, England and Sri Lanka play Pakistan but the difference is Sharjah returns to test as well as one day cricket. Last full time team to visit Sharjah was Pakistan when they played Zimbabwe on 10 April 2003 while Sharjah has hosted only 4 tests, last one was between Pakistan and Australia in October 2002.
October and November 2011 is time time when Sri Lanka play as many as 3 tests, 5 one day internationals and a twenty20 to sign-off. here's the schedule for it.
The first test match will be played at Sheikh Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi from 18th October, 2nd test at Dubai International ground from 26th October while 3rd test match goes to Shajah from 3rd November. Teams then return to Dubai for first three one day games before Sharjah gets 4th game and then fifth and final at Abu Dhabi where the only T20 will also be played. All ODI and T20 matches will be played under flood-lights.
