They said West Indies cricket board has taken a backward step by appointing Brain Lara as their captain just before India's tour of Caribbean. Well known cricket commentator - Ian Chappell said there are no quick fixes for International team (after West Indies board appointed Bennett King as coach and asked him for some quick fixes into West Indies team, which was falling day after day).

People also criticised Brain Lara for being a defensive captain, and including as many as 7 or 8 batsmen in playing eleven - as if he just wanted to bat and always ignored bowling.

BUT the fact is West Indies team is rising. And with such rapid pace that every other International team should take a notice and prepare themselves. Not to mention India, who plays West Indies on Thursday as their second match in 2006 ICC Champions trophy.

The best example of West Indies rising is their performance against Australia. Last two encounter and both going to West Indies. What should Indian team do to stop this hurricane??

Well, if you ask me - play as many spinners as possible. But I am not the part of Indian think tank.
