A good ODI match is the one where more than 300 runs are scored and then chased down by teams batting second... or is it?
Surely fours and sixes seem more elusive to the spectators, than great deliveries from bowlers. This may not be the case for people like me - who still love this game so much that even low scoring but well fought-out matches catch our attention. BUT WE ARE IN MINORITY. The need is for flat wickets and CCI - Cricket club of India or Brabourne cricket stadium has failed to develop one. The pitch at Brabourne stadium has not been producing runs and thus there are some chances that finals of ICC Champions trophy will be shifted from Brabourne. ![]() The reason behind low scoring pitch at CCI : Important note - On May 2001, CCI became the first Indian ground to have "an imported pitch". And the fact is not a single International cricket match was played at CCI since November 1995. Hence the pitch was not tested by International standards. All CCI hosted was domestic cricket matches - something that not many people paid attention to what score that "imported pitch" is producing..!! Rain god : According to Raj Singh dungarpur, the reason of an under prepared pitch at CCI is rain. It must be noted that Mumbai has been having some very heavy rains for last two seasons and it was raining in Mumabi till early October this year as well. Australia vs West Indies match the deciding factor : Australia and West Indies are scheduled to play the 4th ODI of ICC Champions trophy today at Brabourne stadium and this one day international might well decide whether final match at Brabourne will be changed or not.
