It ain't no secret that Sri Lankans don't get to tour South Africa often, whatever be the reason but the result is islanders have a record that can only get better = 7 tests played, 6 lost, 1 drawn. In ODIs, they've won 5, lost 12 and tied once. There have been no twenty20 between Sri Lanka and South Africa..
End of year 2011 and begining of 2012 is the first time Sri Lanka tour South Africa, after 2002 series. Question is, can Lankans improve on their performance on so called speedy tracks? only time will tell but he's how the schedule has been set by Cricket South Africa, placing tests at prominent venues but one dayers are at second choice grounds.
Sri Lanka begin tour with first test match at Supersport park in Centurion from 15th December while second test is the boxing day test at Durban from 26th December and third test at Cape Town from 3rd January in new year. Sri Lanka play five one day series at Paarl, East London, Bloemfontein, Kimberley and Johannesburg. There's no T20 schedule on this tour.
Sri Lanka move onto participate in Triseries in Australia after this.
