There will be few twenty20 performances when someone gets man of the match award for scoring just 20 runs and claiming only one wicket but that's what happened at Wankhede stadium today. Kieron Pollard's couple of sixes provided much needed acceleration to Mumbai Indians and then he got wicket of in-form Dinesh Karthik to break Kings XI Punjab's hopes of achieving an ambitious chase in Mumbai's den. what figures don't mention is that this windies giant was all around the ground in second half, like there were 3 or 4 Pollards on field, taking a catch and saving good dozen runs alone..
Shaun Marsh played yet another impressive IPL knock, this time scoring 61 from 47 balls and single handedly keeping visitors in the game despite wickets falling at constant intervals at the other end. Paul Valthaty, one of the leading batsman in IPL 2011 so far, scratched around for a score less than run a ball as Punjab fell to 23 run defeat.
Earlier, Sachin Tendulkar and Ambati Rayudu added 95 runs for the second wicket to set the platform for Pollard to launch. It wasn't one of the fluent innings from Tendulkar but Rayudu batted well untill he was very well caught at the baundary by Dinesh Karthik. Mumbai reached a handsome total but they should have got a few runs more.
