Chasing 172, Jamaican smashed seven sixes in his 55 ball stay which is now the joint 10th fastest century in IPL. There was no Kolkata bowler, even at home venue, who could restrict Gayle in his unbeaten knock as he made mockery of handy target, adding 123 run opening stand with Tillakartne Dilshan and then 52 with Virat Kohli, unseparated. Gayle reached fifty off 29 balls and century off 55 balls. Earlier, Jacques Kallis, Gautam Gambhir and Yusuf Pathan contributed to put up handsome total on board having being inserted in to bat.
