Hashim Amla & AB de Villiers. South Africans were stubborn for using seamers irrespective of conditions in previous several tournaments but in this world cup 2011, they seem to have made a contious change to their mind-set, playing quantity of spinners in their eleven on this sub-continent world cup 2011 and so far everthing seems to going according to plan..

Today, South Africa crashed Netherlands to the 4th biggest defeat in world cup history, winning by 231 runs at PCA stadium in Mohali. Spinners Imran Tahir, Robin Petersen and JP Duminy shared 6 wickets between them as minnows fell to 120 all out in just 34.5 overs. None of Netherland batsmen made an impression with the exception of opener Wesley Barresi who scored a fine 44.

Earlier, South Africans were inserted in to bat and they faced tough conditions as new ball bowlers Mudassar Bukhari and Berend Westijk found their line & length. Captain Graeme Smith and Jacques Kallis fell cheaply but in-form Hashim Amla and AB de Villiers made sure Proteas set a platform for huge total. Both scored their centuries and then, JP Duminy cracked four sixes in his 15 ball stay to accelerate innings part 350 run mark.

It was a walk in the park for South Africa but in next match this weekend, they face tough challenge against England side which is desperate for an outright win.
