Praveen has been a consistent performer with the new ball for India and his loss will surely affect the teams cup preprations.

India's squad for world cup 2011.

Praveen, who picked up the elbow injury in South Africa was sent back midway from the South African tour as a precautionary measure. But the recovery didn't go too well and Praveen was sent to England to see Dr. Andrew Wallace, who has treated many Indian players in the past. The doctors who treated him gave a hint about his chances of making it to the World cup by saying that it will be a miracle if Praveen recovers in time for the cup!

Praveen underwent a fitness test at the NCA on monday and not surprisingly, he failed in that test. After that all were waiting for the confirmation from the BCCI which came on Tuesday. An excited Sreesanth said on Tuesday, "Better late than never. God has been great to me and I am really looking forward to playing in the world cup. I was thrilled when I got the call this afternoon. Honestly, I was not hoping to play in this world cup. Infact for the last few days, I have been coming to the NCA to get ready for the upcoming domestic matches. This news have came in as a big surprise, I am fully fit and also bowling well. I hope to continue the same form in the World Cup."
