Who do you think knows better about "YOU" - You or your opponent??

I am convinced that when it comes to a battle where two fight for the same thing, at the same stage, it's the oSaqlainMushtaq.jpgpposition who always notice you lot closely than you do to yourself. They know your strengths, they know your weaknesses and try to negotiate it with a new game plan.... but are always fearing with what you have that they don't..!!

Being an Indian, I feel I have watches our arch rivals - The Pakistani cricket team, so very closely that I find myself in a situation to tell 7 points about this mysterious team. The team that can beat anyone any day. The team that we always want to beat, but the fact remains that they have won more ODI and test matches against us than we have against them.

Read on if you have 7 minutes to spare - - -

The passion of Pakistani cricket fans :-

I am sure you know about Google - the search engine which is most popular. But what you don't know is that they released a list of what people search and from which country. That list shows that "Cricket" is most searched by Pakistan. Almost double of what Indian cricket lovers generate. I am sure you are knowing the population difference between the two countries.

Just for information, cricket was on 15th position in that list, Sania Mirza and Aishwarya Rai grabbed the top positions from India.

The Pakistani fielding :-

Worse. To say the lWasim Akram.jpgeast. In fact, recently I made a list of top fielders in International cricket, and couldn't manage to name a single player from Pakistan. Because their simply aren't good enough.

Right now nearly every international cricket team is having two or three brilliant ones, but whole Pakistani team looks like a "full hearted triers" but still dumb... That too when their coach is Bob Woolmer, who used to coach one of the best fielding side - South Africa.

The Pakistani bowlers :-

Right from the days of Sarfaraz Nawaz, Abdul Qadir, Imran Khan and Wasim Akram, Pakistani soil has been producing some of the bowlers who will not become great, but prove to be leathal. I mean, don't you know about Saqlain Mushtaq - the only spinner who used to bowl at the end overs of an ODI. Pakistan captain used to bring back Saqlain when opposition batsmen started to score quickly. They did that because Saqlain Mustaq was the first ever bowler to invent Off spinner's "Top Spinner" ball in cricket. The ball used to get much faster after pitching and that caused nearly every batsmen to miss time them. If not get bowled.

Have a look at them now - they had Waqar Younis, who could reverse swing the ball in bizarre manner, then they found Shoaib Akhtar - the fastest bowler in the world. With his run-up from the boundary, long hair and immaculate physical strength, Shoaib Akhtar is not just a bowler but a spectacle that people love watching during a cricket match.

And now when Shoaib is coming to the end of his career, Pakistan has unleashed Mohammad Asif - A bowler who is as accurate as Glenn McGrath, but also with the ability to swing the ball both ways... and also to reverse swing it. With a height of six feet and 3 inches, Mohammad Asif is fastely making waves in International cricket.

It's a blessing for Pakistan to always have a bowler who is World beater. One after another..!!

The Speciality : Notice how Pakistani bowlers try to get their wickets - by hitting the stumps. They are the only ones who bowl yorkers at the start of an innings and rarely pitch the ball short even when they have enough of pace.

The Ball tampering :- I was the one who watched that Oval test incidence completely on TV, and thouShoaibFlying.jpgght Injamam was wrong by not coming out on the field in time, but I also believed Umpire hair was wrong as well. I protested through my blog and got quite a few responses from diverse cricket fan all over the World.... but the fact remains that Pakistani bowlers have always been related to ball tampering, and even their former great bowlers like Aquib Javed have agreed doing that in their playing days. While Shahid Afridi has quoted that a ball can't reverse swing without being tampered with....

Even Shoaib Akhtar was caught on the camera during 3rd ODI between Pakistan and England on 5th of September at Rose bowl in Southampton as scratching the ball - tampering or cleaning the mud was not clear, but ICC preferred to keep the matter quite as theirs already too many controversies around.

Isn't there something questionable as well..??

An "easily accessible" coach :-

Not many Indian's know that Pakistani coach also runs a cricket coaching website, where he also answers virtually any question that Pakistani cricket fan might have. This gives the cricket fans in Pakistan a feeling that they are more closer to their national cricket team.

How many other National cricket coaches of International cricket teams do that - NONE. It's only Bob Woolmer.com, who though his website keeps in touch with the people whose team he is responsible for. Isn't this strange but sweet..!!

The Pakistani batsmen :-

Being an Indian, whenever I look at Pakistani batting, I feel like none of their batsmen is capable of playing very long innings and threaten to win the match, but somehow they always find one to make enough runs to give their bowlers a chance to dismiss YounisKissesThePitch.jpgthe opposition.

And the sweetest thing about Pakistani batsmen is that each one of them kisses the pitch after completing a century... although the pitch might not taste as sweet..!!

Their bowling action :-

A number of International bowlers have been subjected to "illigal bowling action" in cricket arena, but most of them has been Pakistani's. I am not sure why that has happened, and I won't like to comment on Shoaib's bowling action as well, but what I want to tell you is Saqlain Mushtaq had such an impact on Pakistani youngsters that when you watch a young off spinner like Mohammad Hafeez and Shoaib Mallik, they all try to copy how Saqlain used to bowl, and ultimately fall into the ICC's trap.

I strongly believe that if this team can improve their fielding and give captainship to Younis Khan, to play Injamam just as a batsman - they are a strong contender for one of the semi-final spot in the World Cup in West Indies this time...
