End of day 1 : New Zealand 258 for 4 wkts : from 90 overs. Gareth Hopkins 0* & Jesse Ryder 22*. McIntosh, having made a pair of ducks in first test match, justified selectors faith in him by scoring his career second century which is now first by a New Zealand opener on an overseas tour after 6 years (Stephen Fleming last made a ton vs England at Trent Bridge in 2004). Tim was dismissed 10 balls before close of play, by Zaheer Khan who got him 6th time overall. Martin Guptill played well too, but not before umpires called him back from pavilion as Sreesanth had got him out off a foot no ball which was later detected by TV umpire. Rajiv Gandhi stadium became India's 21st and 101st test venue internationally. Pitch is offering considerably bounce and some spin & swing to the bowlers, so next four days should be entertaining.
End of day 2 : India 178 for 2 wkts : from 49 overs, thanks to another superb near century from Virendra Sehwag. Gautam Gambhir made a career saving half century and together these two became the most prolific Indian opening pair. Earlier, Zaheer Khan and then Harbhajan Singh destroyed New Zealand 1st innings in first session. a India's day throughout.
End of day 3 : 436 for 9 wkts : from 134 overs. Harbhajan Singh 85* & S Sreesanth 14*, adding 69 runs for the last wicket which stretched Indian lead past half century mark. It was an intriguing day that New Zealand began very well, setting smart field and eating up Sachin Tendulkar early on. VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid negotiated first session cautiously and then continued on in second session but Daniel Vettori & co kept the pressure up, reducing Indians to 367 for 9 wkts untill Sressanth joined Harbhajan and turned the match around, raising new record 10th wicket partnership for India vs New Zealand. Harbhajan is now highest run scorer in this series!
End of day 4 : New Zealand 237 for 4 wkts : from 75 overs. Brendon McCullum 124*, Kane Williamson 12*. Harbhajan Singh became the only batsman in history of test cricket to score consecutive century as a no.8 batsman, stretching India's lead past hundred mark. McCullum is keeping Kiwis afloat with 90 more overs to go. End of day 5 : End of match : as India batted out first hour of last session and umpires called match as draw at the begining of last hour. Brendon McCullum scored double century to drive visitors to safety..
