ICC's smarter than you think..!!Lets admit this - ICC is consist of people who are one of the best
negotiators, selected preciously from each country and they know how to
dilute the intensity of a serious matter....... where as you and I are
just common people who are so madly in love with this game called
cricket that we keep on forgetting what wrong is happening with us.
![]() First, they allowed Darrell Hair to stay in the "Elite panel of International umpires", even when he kept on making decisions which clearly showed his bias against sub-continent cricketers. Then they penalised Injamam for forfeiting the Oval test (which I think was the right decision), but who gave them the right to declare the test match in favour of England?? And then they made two charges against Injamam as (a) Tampering with the ball (for which they didn't had a single evidence) and (b) for bringing the game to disrepute by not coming on the field in time... interestingly, there were no news of what's going to happen to Darrell Hair?? And if above all factors don't sound enough to you, consider this - Pakistan team declared that if their Captain Injamam is penalised for "ball tampering", they will leave UK and won't participate in the up coming 5 ODI series against England, which starts from 30th of August. Now this was a tricky situation for ICC as they can't see someone taking them HEAD-ON and still getting away. Initially, they set Friday - the 25th of August for the hearing of the two charges against Injamam but saw a chance of Pakistan team practically leaving the ODI series.... I am sure ICC would have been fine with that as well, and would have penalised the whole Pakistan team later on, but what scared them was a possible loss of 2 MILLION POUNDS, which ECB would lose if ODI series between England and Pakistan is not played. Here comes the jack of all trades - HEARING DELAYED. That too till an undecided date. ![]() Now doesn't this sound so very fine from England's, ICC's and Darrell Hair's perspective. ICC has said that Ranjan Madugalle, the match referee was to hear the debate, but now he is busy with some "Personal reasons". What personal reasons?? No body knows, but what you and I should know is that no decision is going to be taken till the England vs Pakistan ODI series is finished. And after that, it will be very fine for ICC to penalise Imjamam for 2 or 4 test match for a crime that no body knows he committed or not..!! This way, England's money will be saved, Darrell Hair will be saved and ICC arrogance will remain static... and time and cricket will heal whatever anger Pakistani cricket lovers may be having.. Well done ICC - you are a genius. Related Articles |
