Kinrara Oval Stadium in Puchong, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia.Filed under

What is the best way to make cricket popular in countries where there is talent but no exposure??
Malaysia is a country which fits just right into this category as they have been an "associate member" of IC C since 1967 but haven't managed to play a
single International cricket match as yet. So what is the solution to
see Malaysia growing as a cricket playing nation..??
According to ICC, give them International cricket match to host as neutral venues and let Malaysians watch some highest quality of cricket. Probably they are right and that is why, Kinrara Academy Oval in Puchong, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia will be hosting a tri series between India, Australia and West Indies which starts on 12th of September to till 24th of the same month. This India-Australia-West Indies tries series was supposed to be hosted jointly by Singapore and Malaysia, but for some reasons, it has changed and now all matches in this special Triangular series, just before the ICC Champions trophy will be played only in Malaysia. A cricket ground called "Kinrara Oval in Puchong" is something not many cricket lovers world wide will know much about, so I have tried my best to find everything about this ground, and let me start by telling you that this ground has never seen a total of over 266. Now you may ask have they hosted International cricket matches, well, they have but they were not called as International matches. It was during the Common Wealth games in September 1998 when teams like India, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, New Zealand participated when cricket were first time introduced into the games and that was also the only time Common Wealth games have seen cricket. What was so wrong with Kinrara Pitch is still not known but there was a Semi-final match between Australia and New Zealand when New Zealand were bowled out for just 58 runs. And Australia achieved the victory target in just 10.3 overs. They say pitch at Kinrara are slow and stroke making is pretty tough and I believe when India, Australia and West Indies TriSeries takes place, the pitches will be no different, as Curator will be same. ![]() The good thing about this series will be that it will be played in the month of September when Malaysia sees very little of rain and as Kinrara Oval has the facility of Floodlights, Day/Night cricket matches will present a brilliant festival of Cricket in Malaysia. And surely the best so far..!! To talk more about this Puchong city, the actual way do describe it is by the name "Bandar Kinrara", which has developed recently. Previously, the Kinrara estate was famous for it's military camp and Hospitals but now, if you are interested in GOLF as well, Bandar Kinara is just the place for you. It has also got many cheap houses, luxury homes and schools but we are not interested in that.... are we?? What we are interested in is the cricket ground at Kinrara, which is basically a 18-acre sports complex which along with cricket, includes rugby facilities and commercial centres. This place has gone into heavy development during last few decades and the latest to join is the Floodlights to host sports during the night time. And that is why, all matches in Ind-Aus-WI Tri triangular series in September has been set as Day/Night matches. What's more, this Kinrara stadium is the home of Malaysia cricket, which makes it easily the possible place to play and watch International cricket matches. That is in Malaysia I mean..!! Let me also add the Address of Kinrara Oval Cricket ground - 105866, Jalan BK 5A/2, Bandar Kinrara, Puchong, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Related ArticlesCricket Grounds
