y had earned the season before. And they are determined to triple it in this new season.

Australia have never won a tournament called "Champions trophy" before, where every top cricket playing nation participates. Thus, they wanted their player to have some International practice before that tournament starts again in October in India..

And West Indies, poor West Indies, have shortage of money. And what's more - they are preparing for World Cup in March 2007. They surely need as much money as they can gather..

RESULT - INDIA VS AUSTRALIA VS WEST INDIES TRI SERIES AT A NEUTRAL VENUE CALLED KINRARA IN MALAYSIA.

I am sure none of us cricket lovers will complain as long as we know how to watch this tri series - either at home on television or at Kinrara Oval in Puchong, Malaysia. So this article of mine, which might have a bizarre title, but will prove worth reading to you. So spare 3 Min's if you can..

First a little history :-

Singapore (Kallang and Padang cricket grounds) was supposed to host this tri series jointly with Malaysia at the start. In fact, they were hosting 4 ODI out of 7, but cricket officials changed their mind as they thought travelling might become a problem for players in a Tri series where 7 one day International will be played in just 13 days. So, even when Singapore has the experience of hosting International cricket matches, Malaysia won and now they will host all of these matches.

Not to mention, India were supposed to play West Indies in a 5 ODI series at Toronto. And that is why, I feel a little bad for cricket fans in Toronto, Singapore and even USA, who were also in consideration few months back.

What's this cricket ground - Kinrara Oval ??

Well, it's the so calle

d home of Malaysian cricket and has been hosting local and ACC cricket matches for a long time. But they hosted International teams only once when Common Wealth games were played in 1998. The stadium in situated at Puchong in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and has all the necessary facilities to host International sports, including Rugby.. Here's more on Kinrara Oval for you.

The schedule of India - Australia - West Indies triseries :-

Its quite easy to remember. Practically - Matches will be played on 12th, 14th, 16th, 18th, 20th, 22nd and the final on 24th... All in the month of September 2006. If you are an Indian fan, forget about 12th and 18th and rest will be India's matches... hopefully!!

This channel won the telecast rights way back in April 2006 which said that Indian cricket team will be playing a total of 17 International One day matches against various countries at various neutral venues. They did the live telecast of India vs Pakistan DLF Cup in April this year, and now they have the telecast rights for this India - Australia - West Indies tri series in Malaysia.

The good news is that channel ZeeSports is available virtually thought every cable medium in India (Local cable and dish TV), so there won't be too many problems for cricket viewers in India at least. The question remains that which channel will telecast this tri series in USA, UK, Australia, West Indies, Canada and few other countries were cricket lovers stay...

ICC Champions Trophy in India. 7th October to 5th November 2006 (The schedule). And after that, Indian team will be leaving for a tour of South Africa where they play 5 ODI's, Three test matches and a twenty20 International cricket match, which will be Indian team's first ever 20-20 International match.
