Lahiru Thirimanne nailed in a century on last day. Plagued with injuries due to which two main bowlers = Zaheer Khan and S Sreesanth, returned home even before this Sri Lankan tour began. In this first tour game, Indian bowlers failed to make inroads into Sri Lanka's second string side and were made to chase leather for over 160 overs over the period of 3 days.

Electing to bat first, captain Samarweera gave his openers a chance to express themselves and that's exactly what they did, with Upul Tharanga scoring century and Thirimanne half ton. Lankan one day side regulars = Thilan Kandamby and Thilan Samarweera nailed a hundred each to pegg Indians back early on day 1 as home team finished with over 400 runs on board.

Indian first innings had terrible start as four of their main batters failed to rise to occasion but opener Gautam Gambhir, in association with Yuvraj Singh, redirected hopes. Yuvraj Singh made a statement of returning into form with a majectic century with 6 sixes.

Ajantha Mendis was the best bowler, picking up 6 wickets.

Sri Lankan board president eleven decided to bat on rather than push for a win on last day, ending the match in a tame draw.

Pragyan Ojha was best Indian bowling in this warm-up match, taking 8 wickets in all.
