A must watch in August - Twenty20 matches on Starsports. When you decide to become an active blogger, you somehow make a
commitment to your readers that you not only will write interesting
articles, but also will provide most important information's to
them.... And in my case, being a cricket
blogger, I have always felt
that I must find all the strange information's related to cricket,
specially Indian cricket and make my readers aware of them...
And the information that I have for you here is something you just can't miss. Its about twenty20 cricket matches being shown by Star Sports, the channel who has brought us so many great cricketing drama's. And in the month of August, they will be showing some of the best twenty20 matches which were played in England in 2006 season. ICC has already given a "bright green" signal to Twenty20 International cricket matches, but the fact remains that not many people in India really know what kind of cricket game it is... And the only reason behind it is that Team India has never played a Twenty20 match. Even Domestic cricketers in India are very much unaware of this new form of cricket. Now when it has become a certainty, why not watch some Twenty20 matches which were played in UK (England) by the county teams like Surrey, Lancashire (Dinesh Mongia's country team), Worcestershire (Zaheer Khan's County team) and Northamptonshire (Sourav Ganguly's county team). I had the pleasure of watching some Twenty20 matches between England's county teams two years ago and to tell you frankly, initially, I was not really liking the idea of playing a 20 overs cricket matches. Then I got involved a little and finally, when Starsports did the live telecast of the semi-final and final twenty20
matches in 2004, I was trilled. Believe me, twenty20 is fun game and
they really have the potential to go a long way...
Very soon, a day will come when Indian team will tour Australia and their schedule will read - 3 test matches, 3 ODI's and 3 twenty20 matches. So why not watch some twenty20 matches yourself and know what exactly they are all about..!! This year also, starsports will show 8 Twenty20 matches which were played in England this year and finally they will show the semi-final and final matches... exactly like 2004. Following is a schedule that I have prepared to tell you when you can watch the telecast of those matches on star sports....
Note :- 1) All the above twenty20 match timings on starsports are from India standard timing (IST). 2) On 12th of August (which also happens to be my B'day), Star Sports will do the live telecast of the two semifinals and the final of this 2006 twenty20 cup in England. All the other matches will be shown as replay on star sports. 3) Twenty20 cricket games has the best thing about them that they finish in just 3 and half hours. Which means that all the three most important matches (Two semifinals and the final) can be played in just one day.... and there is still some time to adjust a Bermuda 20-20 festival, which will shown by Star Sports at 2200hrs. 4) If you somehow miss to watch all these UK Twenty20 cricket matches on starsports, you can catch them again on 16th August at 2000hrs, 17th August at 2000hrs, 19th August at 1200hrs and finally on 3rd September at 1700hrs.
