The latest on cricket today is, Mr Pawar's appointment as someone very important in cricket managing personals. But thats not what attracts me about cricket. Its the game, and only the game. I just hope that if he really is that much important, he handles his duties honestly.

But the story I am about to tell you, can be titled as "The Chappell finger". Neither you, nor I saw him doing that, whatever he did. But we have made our perceptions..

Fact - We Lost the match to SA.
Location - Exit of Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Time - Around midnight.
Situation - Our team is leaving the ground, looking sad.
Population - Pretty croudy, mainly reporters, murmuring.

ACTION

Reporter1: You are new Mr Chappell, we will see to it that you are thrown out and never come back to India. How dare you force Sourav out of the team. Soon he will be in and you out!!!!

Reporter2: What you have to say about our incapability to play fast bowl......ing.................(gets dominated by louder voices)

Reporter3: Sourav has made this team. He is our best batsman and our captain. He is back into the test team. You can't run away like this...answer us..

Reporter4: Where are you going you chicken shittt.. we will follow you to the hotel..

All I am showing to you is a screenplay of a perception. But to me, this seems the only way it could have happened. Its very hard for me to believe that Chappell was trying to show the finger to Kolkatans, from his bus window. Kolkatans are not the one who went up to him and asked questions, and wanted Ganguly back into the team. They must have been busy catching METRO'S and TRAMS.

As I said, neither you, nor I were there. Same is for any average cricket loving bengali, but these reporters. And I have seen many mediocres become aggressive when they see people in BEHIND.

So, thats the story.. "The Chappell finger - to the reporters".
