4th ODI : Ryan Harris fifer yet again : Pak 142/10, 135 short.

Ryan Harris on his way to his second consecutive five wicket haul. Don't be surprised if Ryan Harris, the movie, hits cinemas near you in an year or two..

30 year Queensland medium pacer, after a terrible debut, had lost all hopes to perform on International scene again but continued to feature in domestic cricket rather than go fetch a proper job. A surprise call on Sunday deported Harris to Adelaide Oval on Monday as back up to much younger Peter Siddle and on Tuesday, he bowled Australia to victory against a roaring Shahid Afridi, dismissing 5 Pakistani batsmen.

People applauded, and wondered how long this Ryan Harris dream would continue? Well, today it did, and how.. 5 more wickets from 9.5 overs, this time only conceeding 19 runs, including 3 maidens. and second consecutive man of the match award. Wow!

Chasing stiff 278 on a pacy Perth pitch, Pakistani start was rocked by Ryan Harris as early as off the 4th ball of the innings, eating up Salman Butt for a duck and then Younus Khan in his 3rd over. Peter Siddle provided enough support from other end, claiming fast settling Kamran Akmal and then captain Mohammad Yousuf.

Youngsters Umar Akmal and Fawad Alam tried to redirect visitors challenge with a 60 run partnership but Ryan Harris saperated them, coming back in his second spell and then cleaning up Rana Naved-ul-Hasan and Rao iftikhar Anjum to complete his fifer.

Earlier, Pakistani bowlers did another admirable job after Brad Haddin took home team off to quick start after electing to bat. Struggling captain Ricky Ponting looked like finding his touch with a knock of 30 off 40 but spin duo of Shahid Afridi and Saeed Ajmal kept things quite.

Nathan Hauritz was the second best performer of the day today, playing an uncharactistic attacking innings and scoring only his first ODI half century, bettering his pervious highest score 30* vs India a Nagpur in October 2009. Hauritz' 53 off 39 balls with a four and 4 sixes (2 in row vs Naved-ul-Hasan), in association with Michael Hussey (80 run partnership for 6th wicket) propelled Australia to a strong first innings total.

The scores

Australia (elected to bat) 277/8 in 50 overs
M Hussey 67, N Hauritz 53*, M Asif 3 for 42.
Pakistan (target 278) 142 allout in 37.5 ovs
Umar Akmal 38, S Afridi 29, Ryan Harris 5/19.
