2nd ODI : Pakistan overwhelmed at Sydney : Australia take 2-0 lead.

Shane Watson took Aussies off a flying start. Most things went right for Pakistan in previous game when they elected to bat, posted healthy 275 run target (although were bowled out 2 ball remaining) but dropped catches and a Cameron White thrilling century denied them their first win of current 2009-10 tour of Australia.

Today, in 2nd ODI, visitors changed their formula and elected to field first when coin rolled in their favour, a surprise to many. Mohammad Asif, having played non-stop cricket throughout, was rested for this game and Umar Gul used the new ball with Mohammad Aamer.

Shane Watson found middle of his bat straight away and blazed his way to 9 fours and a six punchuated 69 off only 71 balls, scoring 43 off first 50 run stand and then stretching it to an opening stand of exactly 100 from first 19.5 overs before a good catch from Shoaib Mallik dismissed him. Shahid Afridi provided back to back wickets to Pakistan team but Cameron White, first with Michael Clarke and then with Michael Hussey, added crucial 28 and 55 run partnership for 4th and 5th wicket to keep Aussies afloat against some testing bowling specially from spinners Saeed Ajmal and Afridi. Brad Haddin utlised last 5 overs of power play well with a 13 ball 27 to push Aussie total past 250 run mark.

Pakistan were in never in chase after losing Salman Butt and Younis Khan for only 7 runs on board. Kamran Akmal was run out while his younger brother Umar was bowled by Peter Siddle (who touched 150kmph mark today) to reduce their team to 4 for 32. Shoaib Mallik, Shahid Afridi and Mohammad Aamer made it 7 for 71 and match was done and dusted.

Pakistan were bowled out for 127 which is now their lowest total ever in an One day international in Australia.

The scores

Australia 267 for 6 in 50 overs
S Watson 69, White 55, Aamer 3/53
Pakistan 127 allout in 27.3 overs
M Yousuf 58, McKay 3/15, Doug 2/19
