Australia's 12th consecutive test match win versus Pakistan.

Australian players rejoice clean sweep vs Pakistan, their 12th straight win against asian nation. At highest level, talent isn't the decisive factor. All teams, at least top 8 test teams in world cricket today, have players who earn their spot after rigorous hard work and countless sleepless nights. the difference for win or loss depends on commitment, the eagerness with which players fight on field, day in day out.

Australian cricket prides itself on being commited all the time, while Pakistani team are renowned mysterious bunch of boys. Now to win a test match, specially in Australia, a visiting side has to be on top of their game every single session, let alone each day. Pakistan embarked on 3 test series in Australia this January 2010 and following is how story unfolded..

1st test, Melbourne : Australia won by 170 runs : openers Shane Watson (93) and Simon Katich (98) ran away with the game despite some testing new ball bowling by Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer. Aussies declared at 454/5, Pakistan 258 allout and then Aussies declared their second innings at 225 for 8. Chasing target of 422, visitors could muster up only 251.

2nd test, Sydney : Australia won by 36 runs : the closest Pak v Australia test match ever. Mohammad Asif (6 for 41) and Mohammad Sami (3/27) bowled out Australia inside 45 overs after home captain elected to bat on an overcast day. Century stand between openers, Pakistan had all but won this test match but they started to fall hence forward, were bowled out for 333 (206 run lead) and then dropped multiple catches to see Aussies post solid 381 allout, setting them to chase 176, which they couldn't.

3rd test, Hobart : Australia won by 231 runs : Series already gone, Pakistani commitment failed but Aussie desire didn't as they twice declared their innings (519 for 8 and 219 for 5) and finished Pakistan for 301 and 206.. easy as it gets.

With these three wins, Australians now have won 12 straight test matches against Pakistan, without even a draw, which is the most by any country against any country. Can Pakistan make a comeback? next Pakistan v Australia test series = July 2010, in England. 4 consecutive 3-0 whitewash, it will be mighty interesting to see when actually Pakistan stop Aussie rampage against them.
