Bob Simpson and Bill Lawry hold record for biggest partnership in Aus v WI test matches. Partnerships, specially for opening wicket, can set up the test match for a team very well, like it did for Australians as Bill Lawry and Bob Simpson compiled 382 for the first wickets of that Bridgetown test match back in year 1965.

Both Bill Lawry and Bob Simpson scored double centuries (210 & 201 respectively) and Australia posted a mamoth 650 for 6 wkts declared which still stands as the 4th biggest partnership for opening wicket in test matches but, home team West Indies replied appropriately, scoring 573 thanks to a double century from Seymour Nourse and a century from Rohan Kanhai.

Australians pushed for a win, declared at 175 for 4 in second innings but couldn't force a result.

347 between Denis Atkinson and Clairmonte Depeiaza is the highest partnership by a West Indies pair against Austrlaia in test match cricket. It was remarkable partnership as West Indies were 6 down for 147 runs against a massive 668 made by Australia but Atkinson's double century (219) and century (122) by Clairmonte pushed home team to a solid 510 and saving the test match for their team.
