When it comes to cricket, an average cricket fan like you and me are forced to understand some informations that we would have ignored otherwise. Since Sharad Powar has become the president of BCCI, many things are changing in Indian cricket and one of zee_sports.jpgthem is that they have agreed to play 25 one day International matches with countries like Australia, England, West Indies and mostly with Pakistan(15 in all) over the time of coming 5 years...

Zee Sports or Zee Telefilms, owned by Subhash Chandra has won the media rights for all these cricket matches for... hold your breath - 219.15 million dollars, which comes out to be round about Rs. 985 crores...hmm!! So from April 18th 2006 - the starting of India vs Pakistan DLF Cup in Abu Dhabi, cricket fans all over the world will get to see Team India unleash their skills all over the world... and when I say all over the world, I mean - Dubai, Sarjah, Holland, England (Lords, Oval and Birmingham), Toronto, New York, Tristate Area, Houston, Chicago, Palo Alto, Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur, till March 31st 2011.

All of these matches will be telecasted live by ZeeSports here in India and are recognised by ICC. So will be treated as official one day Internationals (ODI) but these matches will not be a part of off shore ODI's that Team India will be playing as per the ICC's normal fixtures. These matches are basically for raising funds for Earthquake victims in India and Pakistan in the Kashmir area that occured in October last year.
