A real eligant right handed batsman from Andra Pradesh called Y Venugopal Rao - Yalaka Venugopal Rao has been in and out of Indian cricket team for 6 or 7 months now. Venugopal Rao made his debut against Srilanka at Dambulla last year in June and since then, he has impressed everyone with his timing of the ball and the ease with which he plays the ball all around the ground.

He along with Suresh Raina were considered as the new batting talents from Indiaby captain Rahul Dravid but some how SureshYVenugopalRao.jpg Raina managed to gain more popularity than Venugopal Rao, probably because of his fieling abilities.. but let me tell you that venugopal rao, with a height of just 5 feet 5 inches can be a very attacking batsman. He first came into lime light when he made a masterful century in the challengers trophy which was played between India A, India B and India seniors. He hit four consecutive fours off an over from Zaheer Khan and recieved lots of praise from Sachin Tendulkar and coach Greg Chappell.

Venugopal Rao may just have only 138 runs to his credit out of 11 One day matches that he has played till date, but he has all the talent in him to be next Gundappa Vishwanath of Indian cricket. Exactly like the formar Indian batting legend, Venugopal Rao likes to square cut the ball and plays some very good shots square of the wickets.. He also is quite a good fielder.
