The Squad -
Batsmen - 1. Rahul Dravid(c), 2. Virendra Sehwag(v.c), 3. Sachin Tendulkar, 4. Venkata Sai Laxman, 5. Youraj Singh, 6. Sourav Ganguly, 7. Wasim Jaffer, 8. Gautam Gambhir. Wicket-Keepers - 9. Mahendra Singh Dhoni, 10. Parthiv Patel. Seam Bowlers - 11. Irfan Pathan, 12. Agit Agarkar, 13. Zaheer Khan, 14. Rudra Pratap Singh. Spinners - 15. Anil Kumble, 16. Harbhajan Singh. Do or die Selection:- Gautam Gambhir and surely for Sourav Ganguly. Real Tester:- Of Rahul Dravid's capabilities as captain and Mr Chappell's Promises and influence on the team. Is the revolution is really there?? Eyes on:- Venkata Sai Laxman and Youraj Singh because of their recent good form. But expectations will be sky high from Pathan and Dhoni as well....but my man will be our captain - Rahul Dravid, the batsmen. No matter who plays and who doesn't, this man always does. Good luck!! Tough Choice:- Whether to play three seamers or a combination of two spinners and two seamers. If first choice(as we always played three seamers in last series, and results followed), the choice between Harbhajan and Kumble will be very difficult. Just a Thought:- I wonder why our selectors keep selecting 16 players squad, when every other country never selects more than 15. But then I also know that our Richest board - BCCI can easily afford it. Do you remember when Mr. Sachin tendulkar was the captain and he asked for 17th player for the tour of WestIndies...in 1997 or 1998 I guess. Just like our population, even our cricket squad likes to be too crouded.. Related ArticlesCricket
