Kiran More's comments about Sourav GangulyFiled under
Article
Being a big person, being a known person and being a former cricketer -
you also have to be a responsible person. And the things that you say
to the media has to be revised a lot of time within you before it comes
out..
These days, in Indian cricket - few things are said that is making a lot of waves.. and the recent to join in is the Indian cricket's chief selector - Kiran More. More on Sunday said that all the doors for Sourav Ganguly to come back into the Indian cricket team has been closed and as long as he is in his post, there is no chance that Ganguly will come back... oo hell, what am I sayi ng. This is not what Kiran
More has said. Following is what he said to the website journalist, and
I don't want to make any changes like every media person. Here is the
exact words.."We took a decision that we have to look ahead," he said. "We decided that so much has been said on this issue, that we wanted to send a message across that, `this is what we are looking at, and as far as this committee is concerned, this is what we have decided, that we will not look back at all." More further spelt out that the committee was "definitely looking beyond" Ganguly even if he were to perform well in domestic cricket. Cricinfo will be releasing the this interview very soon. But whatever happens, the Mr. Kiran More's words are out and its anybodies guess to know what will happen to him now. Kiran More is also prepared to handle whatever may come after his comments as he said - "Pressure is always there in any job and it is a good thing. You have to make some strong decisions. That's why you're selecting the Indian team."
I don't know what else to say other than provide you this link to what really cricinfo.com has recorded from Kiran More. When this interview comes out, we will be able to judge whether More deserves to stay or leave... One last thing, I am satisfied with the performance and the changes in the Indian team and really feel that Indian cricket is going in the right direction.. whoever coaches and whoever selects the team.. the last two hour chase in the Nagpur test match was a clear hint of the changes in the team. I mean how many times India have shown the aggression that they did in the Nagpur test, in the final overs..?? Even if Kiran More has to leave his job as the chief selector of Indian cricket team, which I think he should, I WILL STAND UP AND APPLOUD FOR THE MAN FOR BRINGING SOME BOLD AND IMPORTANT CHANGES..he just needed to be little more smart and should have kept his mouth shut...!!
