I really feel some changes coming to Indian cricket these days. Not only our TEAM INDIA is doing well under Dravid-Chappel partnership, specially in one day cricket, but also the live telecast problem seems to be solving.. read on.

BCCI earned round about US $ 612 million for granting Nimbus communications the rights to produce all the cricket that will be played in India till March 2010. This deal means that from this England series, all the cricket matches that will be played in India ManWithTv.gifwill be under Nimbus to decide whom to give the telecast rights.. it must be noted that Nimbus only produces the pictures - they need a channel to beam them to our television sets..

Now England vs India series in March 2006 will be on Doordarshan and Sahara One. The best thing about this deal is that Sahara One is a free-to-air channel, which means that nealy every Indian who has got cable at his home, can see the matches live. Sahara One is also available though Dish TV and other set-top boxes..

Commenting on the deal, Akash Khurana, MD & CEO, Nimbus, said "Our choice of the Sahara One platform was dictated by the fact that the channel has near 100% distribution in cable homes compared to sports channels that barely reach 50% of cable homes; and by the amazing commitment and vision for cricket of the Sahara India Pariwar."

Doordarshan is our countries premier channel, and as they will also telecast the cricket matches between India and England live, I am sure everyone who wants to watch cricket, certainly will. It must be noted that along with the National network of Doordarshan, quite a few regional channels of Doordrashan might also live telecast the cricket matches..

Let me remind you for the one last time that this deal is only for the India vs England series - for 10 matches - 3 test matches and then 7 one day internationals.. things can change after the series..

The timing of the matches between India and England will be 0900 hrs India time. This time will remain more or less same for whole of the series as there is no Day/Night match.
