Sometimes, pitches are so flat to start off the match that batsmen call all the shots and bowlers get no where to hide.
5 April 2005, Vishakhapatnam, also known as Vizag, played host to an incredible one day international where hosts India won the toss and elected to bat first. Virendra Sehwag, in his usual self, scored 74 off just 40 balls but the surprise came from MS Dhoni, the new Indian wicket keeper who was promoted up the order by captain Sourav Ganguly.. Dhoni scored 148 off just 123 balls, with 15 fours and 4 sixes and said he felt even 356 may not be enough!
India won the game by 58 runs.
Second match in following list is another one begs for a mention. Indians set an imposing 350 for Pakistan to chase in that Karachi one day international, thanks to 99 from Rahul Dravid, 79 from Virendra Sehwag and 46 from Mohammad Kaif.. Pakistan replied with 344, going great guns with Ianzamam ul Haq scoring 122 off just 102 balls and nearly winning the game for his country.
The Highest score in India vs Pakistan one day international cricket at a neutral venue has been 330/8 by India whereas highest score at a venue outside sub-continent is Pakistan's 316/6 at Toronto, Canada back on 19 September 1998.
