Same pitch, same toss result and same selection as in previous match, Indians batted first but 8 of their batters spent more time in pavilion than they did on the field. Today's pitch has shinning look on it, reminding of Sabina Park of 1960s. West Indian fast bowlers extracted plenty of swing as the game was a 9.30am mornging start, and soon Indians were reduced to 8 wickets for just 82 runs on board.

Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni put on 101 runs from 156 balls with number 9 Rudra Pratap Singh to salvage some pride for Indian batting but a target was 189 was never going to trouble in form west indian batting.

Chris Gayle played in his usual self, and quickfire scoring in power plays sent Indians out of the game pretty early in second innnigs.
