A fairy tail day this was for Pakistan. Coming in as underdogs, asian team shocked South African who hadn't lost a single game in the tournament until this semi-final day.

Shahid Afridi, brining his best game today (batting any number 3), made 56 hard hitting runs and then picked up 2 wickets from 4 overs. Some very tight bowling towards the later part of the innings, Pakistan could score only 29 runs off last 5 overs with just one four, and hence had to settle for a below par score of 149 after they looked good for at least 30 more.

Chasing a relatively easy target, Afridi's leg spin (along with Saeed Ajmal's off spin) were the reason why South Africans slipped so deep in the middle overs that they couldn't come back from. JP Duminy's no six but not getting out hurt them as well. This was South Africa's 3rd cricket world cup semi-final and interestingly, they are yet to enter a final, let alone winning it. on other hand, this was back to back second final bearth for Pakistan who were also the runners up in 2007 essay of this World T20 tournament.
