Head to head : 4th meeting.. South Africa now lead 3-1 over New Zealand in T20 games.

A test match of T20 cricket, a low scoring nail biter, a truly great cricket match. It was a non important match of Group D with both New Zealand and South Africa already qualified for super eight round after wins over minnows Scotland. And also, since no team takes forward any point, who won this game wasn't going to matter.

But, when top cricket teams meet, when players play for their country, no motivation is needed. New Zealand, electing to field first, swung the new ball and changed the pace artfully later on in the innings. Not a single South African batsman could find his timing today and they ended up with a below par score of 128, losing 7 wickets.

New Zealand chase always worked at a steady pace but never got that striking blow. half century from captain Brendon McCullum and couple of twenties from Ross Taylor and Jacob Oram were not enough to see Kiwis home.. they lost by 1 run.
