Preplanned to bowl first, Trent Johnston (most experienced Ireland bowler) bowled his 4 overs straight through. dismissing top three Bangladesh batters for few runs. Asian tigers never really recovered from that early set back, although Mashrafe Mortaza's 20 runs off last over propelled them to a close to par score of 137. Unleashing smart plan, Niall O'Brain, who fell and injured his knees in 19th over while keeping, came in to bat with a runner (Jermey Bray), settled down at one end and attacked whole heartedly. O'Brien hit 3 sixes in Mashrafe Mortaza's second over and Ireland were up and galoping towards their target. Last throw of the dice for Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful, he called up his quateret of spinners = Abdur Razzak, Naeem Islam, Mahmudullah and Raqibul Hasan. Irish run rate slowly came down and wickets started to trumble. but late order blast from Kevin O'Brien sealed the game for Irish team. Bangladesh team went home from the tournament!
