Upto today, 96 hours before second Twenty20 World cup kicks off in England from 5th June 2009, 4860 International cricket matches have been played (Tests + ODI + T20). Thousands of players have represented 25 countries since year 1877, but only two batsmen have hit six sixes off one over!Herschelle Gibbs did it in an one day international against Daan van Bunge of Netherlands while hero of this article, Yuvraj Singh, lofted Stuart Broad for 6 big ones in a World T20 match. Fact : No cricketer has hit sixes sixes in an over in test cricket. Brain Lara's holds the record with his 28 runs off Robin Peterson (466444) as the most runs scored off an over in tests till date. Yuvraj Singh's 6 sixes off Stuart Broad came in 19th over of the innings. After 136 opening partnership between Gautam Gambhir and Virendra Sehwag, Indians had lost 3 wickets in 3 overs when Yuvraj Singh walked in.. on 14 when Stuart Broad's over started, Yuvraj completed his half century by the end of it! Needless to say, Yuvraj also made the fastest fifty in T20 cricket that day. Can this record be broken? of course, if a bowler bowls a no ball or wide during his nightmare over.. at least 6 sixes will have to be hit and extra/penalty off that over will give us more than 36 runs off an over! Note : Following list is limited upto 23 runs at least scored off an over. a batsman (of a pair of batsmen) have to match high levels to enter this elite list of dominant batting :-
