Sri Lanka is one of the toughest team to beat at home, but New Zealand have a not so bad record in there.. New Zealand will be in Srilanka for a short 41 day tour, featuring 2 tests, 2 Twenty20 Internationals and, don't miss, a triseries involving India, New Zealand and Srilanka in September 2009.

Triseries will be first International assignment for Indian team since West Indies tour in July and a short affair, each time playing other two once and then a quick final.

New Zealand, although a full time test member of International cricket council, plays least amount of cricket yearly. Reason? cricket isn't a very fan supported sport in New Zealand and neither is New Zealand a world beater team. Their overall record is moderate and overseas performances even lower. or is it?

Fact : New Zealand's report card in tests in Sri Lanka isn't as bad! 5 tours to Sri Lanka since first one in year 1983 when Kiwis won their first and only test series on lankan island, New Zealand has played 11 test matches in Sri Lanka in all, won = 3, draw = 4 and lost = 4.

The last time Kiwis visited Lankan land, in year 2003, they drew both the tests.. comfortably!

Current season, 2009-10, has another New Zealand tour of Sri Lanka scheduled which includes 2 tests, 5 One day internationals and twin T20 games on 17 & 19 September 2009.
