Amla made his test debut against India in 2004 at the famous Eden gardens. He is the first player of Indian origin to represent South Africa. A good timer of the ball Amla has all the strokes in the book, add to that an ice cool head and what you got is a fine test batsman. Hashim has been a run machine for South Africa in test. Amla scored two centuries against India at Kokata in the series decider but his effort wasnt enough as South Africa lost that match! |
| ODI Matches |
Amla made his odi debut against Bangladesh in 2008, four years after making his test debut. Amla's odi debut came late because he was thought as a test specialist. But Amla got rid of that test specialist tag by performing consistently in odi's since making his debut. He also scores runs quickly, Amla has an odi average of nearly 60 and a strike rate above 90. What more can you ask! |
| T20 |
Amla made his t20 debut against Australia in 2009, and is now a permanent fixture in Soutth Africa's t20 team. Amla has shown that you dont have to go slam bang to suceed in the shortest format, if you have technique, you will survive! |
