| Test Matches |
JP made his test debut against Australia in 2008 and impressed in his first game by scoring a vital unbeaten half century in the second innings. And in the next game at the MCG he scored a brilliant 166 to bail his team out of trouble and to cement his place in the side. Apart from being a good batsman, JP is also an excellent fielder and has a knack of picking up wickets with his useful part time off spinners. |
| ODI Matches |
JP made his odi debut in 2004 against Sri Lanka but it took him three years to cement his place in the South African odi side. JP is a fine limited overs cricketer who can rotate the strike well, runs quickly through the wickets and can hit the ball big in the last few overs of the innings. |
| T20 |
JP made his t20 debut against Bangladesh in 2007. He is a pocket size power house in this format, and can hit the ball as far as anyone! He was bought for a whopping $950,000 by Mumbai Indians in the ipl. |
