Binit Andy Ganteaume, a right handed batsman, made 112 on debut at Trinidad back in February 1948 but Windies couldn't win that game, chasing 141 in last innings as time ran out. they were 69 runs away with 7 wickets in hand. It was later concluded that Ganteaume had slowed down towards his century scored in first innings as opener which ate up the required time and hence he was dropped from next test.
