Asked by: KING on 07-12-2010..
Fan Answer
BinitMost sixes by a batsman in one ODI innings was 12, a record held by lesser known Windies right handed batsman Xavier Marshall who once was seen as next Viv Richards but soon desolved away. On 22 August at King City, Marshall struck minnows Canadian bowlers for 12 sixes in his unbeaten century, breaking 12 year old Shahid Afridi's record who had matched Sanath Jayasuriya's in his fastest ODI century.

On 11 April 2011, Shane Watson broke Marshall's record before Rohit Sharma took over couple of years later, scoring only the third double century in ODI cricket.
