Commented by Binit on 25 Dec, 2010MS Dhoni made his one day debut on 23 December 2004, against Bangladesh at MA Aziz stadium in Chittagong. He batted at no.7 and was out for a duck off the first ball! He didn't even take any catch with gloves behind the wicket but Indians won the tense match by 11 runs never the less.
MS Dhoni made test debut against Sri Lanka from 2 to 6 December 2005, an year later his ODI debut, at MA Chidambaran stadium in Chennai. He made 30 in the first innings, from 54 balls with 6 fours and wasn't required to bat again as rain ate up most of that drawn test match. Dhoni too catch of opener Avishka Gunawardene, off the bowling of Irfan Pathan.
MS Dhoni made his twenty20 debut against South Africa at Wanderers ground in Johannesburg, on 1 December 2006. Dhoni took catch of AB de Villiers off Ajit Agarkar and then made a duck from 2 balls he faced before being bowled by Charl Langeveldt. This was the only T20 match Sachin Tendulkar played and India won by 6 wickets, chasing 127.

Commented by Utkarsh on 19 Mar, 2011At current Dhoni is on rank 1 in wicketkeepers job. Against South Africa in 2009 he played a wonderful match making runs 183 notout and took 4 catches in that match.
